Oil-Free Moisture Smoother is the perfect formulation for those who are battling acne or oily-prone skin. Even people afflicted with acne can still have dry and dehydrated skin — we find this to be true in most cases. Unfortunately, clients often begin to self-medicate with over-the-counter products that contain alcohol or other harsh ingredients that promise to “dry up” their acne before seeking the help of a skincare professional. What we find is that they end up dehydrating their skin, which only exacerbates the problem.
Our dermis is very much like a computer and holds a memory of what we apply to it. When your skin recognizes that you’re using exfoliators at an increased rate and stripping away essential oils, it responds by producing excess oil. Then we enter a vicious cycle: the more we apply an exfoliator, the more oil our skin produces. Something has to give. Usually, we see these clients after a lot of damage has already been done, but by giving them a basic education on what’s actually happening, they come to understand why our industry is so important.

Oil-Free Moisture Smoother is non-acidic and oil-free to properly hydrate the skin while correcting pH levels. A daily corrective regimen for oily and acne-prone skin will work quite quickly, as long as the client is diligent with its application.
